Hey there,
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE I WANT TO PROVIDE A SPACE WHERE YOUR VOICE IS HEARD AND VALUED.
My goal as a therapist is to provide a safe place where clients feel empowered to share their stories and be their authentic selves. I meet my clients where they are using a strengths-based lens and give them space to explore their emotions and experiences. I support clients as they navigate through their issues and find joy when they reach their therapeutic and life goals. I recognize that asking for help can be scary, but you have already done the hardest part.
I work with teens, adults, and couples struggling with life transitions, work and/or academic stress, anxiety, depression, ADHD/ADD, trauma, relationship maintenance and wellness, family issues, sex, sexual identity exploration, coming out, gender exploration/transition, and other issues. I am a trans-identified LGBTQIA+ affirming clinician passionate about providing a safe space to discuss emotional, physical, and sexual health and pleasure. If required by your medical provider and/or insurance company, I use the WPATH-SOC to assist gender diverse folks access medical care and will provide letters of support.
I have experience and training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
In my personal life, I like spending time with my partner, our pets, and our lifelong friends. We bought and renovated our first house four years ago and we hope that HGTV picks us for their next home improvement reality show.
Education: I received my Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University and my Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Michigan State University.
