Hey there,
I AM BECOMING A THERAPIST BECAUSE I BELIEVE HEALING OUR COLLECTIVE TRAUMA BEGINS WITH INDIVIDUAL HEALING.
My approach to working with clients is “come as you are,” to listen deeply and to hold space for you to be you in this moment, whatever that might look like. I work with adults navigating issues around gender and sexuality, grief and loss, anxiety, depression, college life, intimate partner violence, peri/menopause, and childhood emotional trauma. Some modalities I turn to are mindfulness, supportive talk therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and psychoeducation.
In addition to being a MSW student, I’m also a professor and advisor. I teach courses in video production, digital content, visual analysis, and career readiness.
Outside of work and school you can catch me curating Spotify playlists, working on a puzzle, adding to my collection of unread books, and getting the phone hung up on me by my 4-year-old niece (she thinks this is hilarious and I agree).
Education: I am completing my MSW at Michigan State. I also have a PhD in Rhetoric and Writing and a MA in Digital Rhetoric and Professional Writing, both from MSU. I completed my undergraduate degree at Oakland University.
