Hey there,
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE I WANT TO PROVIDE A SPACE FOR YOU TO FEEL SEEN, VALUED, AND EMPOWERED.
As a therapist, I aim to cultivate a brave space for you to share your story. Many of us have experienced difficult life circumstances or trauma that can leave us feeling stuck. Together, we can identify areas with room for growth and develop goals that will help you reach your full potential.
I work with teens and adults utilizing a strengths-based perspective. I specialize in self-esteem, body image, disordered eating, depression, anxiety, stress, sexual trauma/assault, sexuality exploration, and gender identity exploration. As a queer and non-binary person, I am especially passionate about providing an affirming space for fellow members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. I also actively acknowledge the impact of oppressive systems on well-being and mental health and am committed to anti-racist work.
I have training in evidence-based treatment methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). I also utilize mindfulness-based practices to assist in managing stress and cultivating greater self-compassion and understanding. We will work together to determine which approach best meets your needs and will help you achieve your goals.
Outside of work, you can find me spending time with my partner and our four kitties, making music and attending concerts, cross-stitching, finding treasures at antique and thrift stores, and spending time in nature.
Education: I received my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and Master of Social Work (MSW) from Michigan State University.
