Hey there,
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE I BELIEVE PEOPLE ARE PRETTY INCREDIBLE.
As a person-centered clinician, my heart is in supporting and empowering women in navigating their relationship with their body and food and the beautiful mess of motherhood. I work with clients from a strengths-based perspective, with a specialty in eating disorders and body image, pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), miscarriage and infant loss, traumatic birth, OCD, overcoming perfectionism and anxiety, navigating faith transitions and sexuality post-purity culture, and sexual trauma/assault. I am passionate about supporting folks who find themselves at the margins and am proactively committed to anti-racist work and being an LGBTQIA+ ally.
I have extensive training in utilizing Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Family-Based Treatment (FBT)/Maudsley treatment methods. I am certified through Postpartum Support International as a Perinatal Mental Health professional (PMH-C) and work from an intuitive eating and Health At Every Size (HAES) foundation.
When I’m not at work, you can find me practicing calligraphy and cross-stitch and other hobbies you generally only find 90-year-old grandmothers practicing. Current passions are drinking (overpriced) cold brew coffees, wandering around Target, cooking without a recipe, and scoring great deals on Facebook Marketplace. I’m trying my hardest to learn Italian to keep up with my born-and-raised in Italy husband, and we love traveling all over the world almost as much as we love our little home here in Michigan. We have three little girls and a rescue hound and we’re head over heels with them all.
It’s an incredible privilege to be trusted with the stories of brave souls as they work through some of the most difficult parts of life. I am deep-down-to-my-bones grateful that my job is to love on people and help build healthy relationships – there’s nothing in this world I would rather do.
Education: I received my Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from the University of South Carolina and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Hillsdale College.
