Hey there,
I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT THERAPY SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE TO EVERYONE, REGARDLESS OF WHO THEY ARE OR WHERE THEY ARE IN LIFE.
With a causal, inviting, and open approach to therapy, it is my goal to meet clients with empathy, respect, humor, and compassion. I love when clients are pleasantly surprised how approachable a therapist can be, and how laid back and comfortable sessions can feel. I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for people of all backgrounds, sexual orientations, and gender identities.
While I have experience with clients of all ages, my passion is working with teens and adults experiencing life transitions, pregnancy and postpartum mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), miscarriage/infant loss, eating disorders and body image (through a Health at Every Size (HAES) and intuitive eating foundation), grief/loss, and chronic illness. I believe all therapy should be strengths-based and person-centered, and draw from multiple modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), and mindfulness approaches, always with a trauma-informed lens. I have extensive experience working with clients in medical social work (transplant recipients, traumatic brain injury, hospice), grief/loss, and private practice settings.
In my free time, I enjoy watching television, puzzles/legos, baking, and exploring the neighborhood with my family, stubborn Jack Russell Terrier, and fearless toddler, Clara.
I look forward to meeting you, and am so honored to be part of your therapeutic journey.
Education: I received a Bachelor of Social Work from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Social Work from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
