Hey there,
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE I BELIEVE EVERY PERSON’S STORY DESERVES TO BE HEARD. I’M HONORED THAT YOU MIGHT SHARE YOURS WITH ME.
Seeking out therapy may be just another easy step of your day, or it may feel like climbing Mount Everest. Wherever you’re starting, I’ll start there with you. My approach to therapy is person-centered, holistic, and strengths-based, meaning my priority is hearing and building upon all the powerful things that make you, you. While therapy should be challenging, I also believe it should be engaging and a bit of fun. I bring humor, curiosity, and a non-judgmental stance to our sessions, creating a comfortable space for you to explore and share your story.
I specialize in working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma or may be struggling with life transitions, anxiety, depression, OCD, behavioral challenges, self-esteem, eating disorders, and the many other challenges that come with being a young human learning to navigate the world. I understand that each child and adolescent is unique, and I tailor my therapeutic approach to meet their individual needs, creating a safe and nurturing space for them to express themselves freely.
While I love the energy of children and adolescents, I also enjoy working with college students and young adults. The challenges we face as adults are numerous, including stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, self-esteem, trauma, spirituality, and so many others. I am here to provide a compassionate space where we can navigate these complexities together, fostering healing and growth.
With training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), I utilize evidence-based practices to help each of my clients develop effective coping strategies and build resilience. My goal is to create a space where you can be fully authentic and show up in whatever capacity serves you best. I believe in the importance of collaboration and actively involve parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process to ensure a supportive and cohesive environment for the child.
When I’m not at work you can find me loving on my two beautiful cats, volunteering at Riverwalk Theatre (behind the curtain), hiking, camping, crafting, or on a long FaceTime call with my family. Though I was born and raised in Wyoming, after 7 years Michigan has become my home, and I proudly embrace the title of Michigander.
It’s a privilege and an honor to sit across from you or your child in the therapist’s seat while you share your story, and we work together to build the skills, knowledge, and resilience to navigate life’s challenges together. I am deeply grateful that my journey has brought me to this moment, alongside you.
Education: I received my Master’s in Social Work from Michigan State University.
