Hey there,
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE IT IS MY PASSION TO HELP OTHERS FIND THEIR VOICE, STRENGTH, AND COURAGE BY WALKING ALONGSIDE THEM IN A SAFE AND NON-JUDGMENTAL SPACE.
I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. Change takes courage and each struggle is unique to the individual. My goal as a therapist is to provide you with a safe judgement-free space to address individual struggles and create goal-oriented strategies to foster change. Always working from a person centered, strengths-based perspective, I hope to offer you new perspectives, healthy coping techniques and the support needed along the journey of healing. I am here to walk alongside you as you share your story and will provide you with a warm and safe space for you to be just as you are. I want to provide you with tools to build on your strengths and increase your resiliency to and management of life's challenges. I would be honored to be part of your healing journey.
I have experience working with survivors of trauma and PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, workplace stress, family conflict, relationship issues, parenting, and pregnancy loss. I have 15 years of experience working with children and adults within the child welfare system. My treatment style stems from a place of authenticity and genuineness, using a variety of evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, and Mindfulness.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my husband and 3 kids, spending time with friends, traveling, going to movies, and listening to music.
Education: I received my Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) and my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology both from Michigan State University. Go Green!
