Hey there,
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE I BELIEVE EVERYONE’S STORY SHOULD BE HEARD.
As a therapist, I prioritize creating a place where individuals feel safe and can become empowered, heal, and grow. Everyone’s story is unique so I aim to take a personal, holistic, and strengths-based approach when working with my clients. My goal is to create a collaborative relationship where I can help individuals discover (or rediscover!) their personal strengths to develop skills to overcome any challenge they may face. I am honored to be able to walk alongside and support my clients as they write the next chapter of their story. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and young adults who have experienced trauma, sexual, physical, emotional, or verbal abuse, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, anxiety, and depression.
I have training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Crisis Response Planning (CRP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and motivational interviewing. I also incorporate mindfulness, yoga techniques, art, and play therapy into my practice.
I constantly seek to combine my background in Neuroscience with my therapy practice through the integration of the most current cognitive behavioral approaches, trauma-focused techniques, and child development.
When I’m not at work I love being outside, working in my garden, doing craft projects, and spending as much time as possible with my dog, Harley! I also enjoy traveling and am always on the search for the best food wherever I go.
Education: I received my Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from University of Illinois-Chicago and my Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Michigan State University.
