Hey there,
I BECAME A THERAPIST BECAUSE I BELIEVE IN THE TRANSFORMATIVE POWER OF BEING SEEN, VALUED, AND HEARD.
As a therapist, I work to create a space where people feel they can safely be vulnerable, raw, and true to themselves. I believe that every person can benefit from having someone devoted to walking with you alongside your journey of healing, while also fostering resilience. When working together, my main priority is to make sure you feel empowered, safe, and heard without judgement.
My passion is working with children, adolescents, and young adults on the Autism spectrum, as well as those working through anxiety, depression, divorce and life transitions, relational struggles, and childhood trauma.
In my practice, I utilize evidence-based therapy models and culturally competent counseling, along with a holistic and strengths based approach. I have training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). I also utilize play therapy and emotional regulation strategies depending on the individual needs of each person.
Outside of Rooted, I can usually be found eating ice cream with family and friends, or re-reading Pride and Prejudice (and watching the movie) for the millionth time. Spending time at Michigan’s beautiful beaches, taking walks, and watching every movie under the sun are some of my favorite ways to recharge and find peace.
Education: I received my Master’s of Social Work (MSW) from Michigan State University and my Bachelor’s degree in Social Work (BSW) from Eastern Michigan University.
